Why

Our pricing approach

Pricing Philosophy

Fees that reflect
value, not hours.

Management consultancy is not a commodity. A fixed price on a website would either overcharge a small operator who needs a focused session, or underserve a large organisation navigating a complex restructure. Neither outcome is acceptable to us.

Instead, we take the time to understand your organisation, its stage, its pressures, and what a successful engagement actually looks like. From there, we propose a fee structure that's transparent, fair, and tied directly to outcomes.

Your initial consultation is free of charge. No obligation.

Scope & Scale

What shapes
the fee.

When we scope an engagement, four main variables determine what's appropriate. Being clear about these from the outset keeps the process honest for both sides.

01
Complexity of the Challenge
A tax compliance review for a single-entity SME is a different undertaking from restructuring a multi-jurisdictional group. Complexity drives depth, and depth drives fee.
02
Scope and Deliverables
A focused written strategy memo is different from a full market entry study with financial modelling and stakeholder presentations. We align scope to what you actually need.
03
Duration and Urgency
Extended advisory relationships and fast-turnaround engagements are structured differently. Timeline is always discussed openly before any fee is proposed.
04
Organisation Scale
We work with early-stage ventures, established family businesses, NGOs, and corporate entities. We calibrate our fees to be appropriate for your organisation's size and capacity.
Note
All engagements begin with a free, no-obligation consultation.
The first session is always complimentary. We outline a clear scope before any engagement begins, and pricing is agreed upfront with full transparency.
Questions

Common questions about working with us.

If you don't see your question answered here, contact us directly. We're straightforward people.

Ask Us Directly →
Is the initial consultation genuinely free?

Yes. The first session exists so we can understand your situation and you can assess whether we're the right fit. No fee is proposed or charged for the initial consultation. We only move forward if the engagement makes sense for both parties.

How quickly can an engagement begin?

For most project-based and discovery engagements, we can typically begin within one to two weeks of a confirmed scope. Retained advisory arrangements are structured on a rolling monthly basis and can start at the beginning of the following month. If you have a time-critical situation, let us know upfront.

Do you work with organisations outside Tanzania?

Yes. While our base is in Dar es Salaam, we regularly advise organisations across East Africa including Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Mozambique. We also work with international businesses seeking to enter the East African market. Remote and hybrid engagements are fully supported.

How are fees structured and invoiced?

Fees are agreed in full before work begins. For project-based engagements, we typically invoice 50% at kickoff and 50% upon delivery of the final output. Retained arrangements are invoiced monthly in advance. We accommodate local and international payment methods.

Can I engage MEM Tanzania for one specific service only?

Absolutely. You can work with us on a single, tightly scoped service such as a tax compliance review or a feasibility study without any obligation to take on broader advisory. Many clients start with one engagement and expand from there, but that's entirely your call.

What makes MEM Tanzania different from other consultancies?

We're not a large firm with junior staff rotating in and out of your account. Every engagement is handled by senior advisors with genuine East African market experience. We offer directness, continuity, and advice that is grounded in how business actually operates in this region, not frameworks imported from Western markets and applied without adaptation.
